Mindfullness Therapy

Mindfulness is a practice that has been around for thousands of years, originating in Eastern philosophy and spirituality. It was first recorded by the Buddha in his teachings, and was later adapted by various spiritual teachers and philosophers. Mindfulness in therapy is a form of psychotherapy that encourages people to become more aware of their own thoughts, feelings, and environment in order to better manage their emotions and improve their overall mental health. This type of therapy encourages individuals to stay present in the moment, observe their thoughts and feelings without judgment, and accept them without trying to change them. Mindfulness can be practiced through meditation, yoga, and other body-based therapies that help to create a sense of awareness and connectedness. Additionally, mindfulness can be used to help individuals recognize patterns in their behavior and find ways to make positive changes.

Internal Family Systems (IFS)

Internal Family Systems Therapy (IFS) acknowledges that we all have different parts of ourselves. For example, you might hear someone say, “well a part of me wants to do this, but another part of me what’s something different”? This model focuses on exploring and understanding these different parts. For those who have experienced complex and early childhood trauma it provides a framework for connecting with the emotional, physical, and psychological impact of trauma in healthy and constructive ways. It includes somatic and embodiment healing techniques. It is welcoming of all spiritual practices and holds space for intergeneration trauma (legacy burdens) including ancestral healing.

Trauma Informed Stabilization Treatment (TIST)

Trauma-Informed Stabilization Treatment was developed to provide a trauma-informed approach to the challenges of treating self-destructive behavior. Based on theoretical principles drawn from the neuroscience research on trauma and structural dissociation theory, TIST offers a treatment approach that integrates mindfulness-based cognitive therapy, Sensorimotor Psychotherapy, ego state techniques, and Internal Family Systems. It has been used successfully to address the challenges of treating individuals with diagnoses of complex PTSD, borderline personality, bipolar disorder, addictive and eating disorders, and dissociative disorders. -© 2023 Janina Fisher.

CBT is an evidence-based approach that has been found to be effective in treating a range of mental health conditions, including anxiety and depression.

Solution Focused Therapy

It is based on the idea that it is possible to find solutions to problems without analyzing the past. SFT encourages people to identify their strengths and resources, and to develop solutions to the problems they face. It also focuses on the present and the future rather than on the past. The therapist works with the client to identify solutions to their current challenges and to create a plan to reach their desired goals.
